There are many cities in this world that I like to visit and enjoy every moment of my stay there. However, only very few cities might grant me this peculiar belief of feeling "at home".
Berlin is one of them and reasons for this are so many. My mother used to tell me lots of stories about her childhood in connection with this city that she visited quite often with her parents to "see family" (it happened around WWI). I still remember her impressions from the ZOO and the monumentality of the city. Many other points in my memory connect me to various stories "language/cultural" related, German being my maternal tongue. Unfortunately, the History developed in such a way that the German people has been mislead for so many years into a wrong and criminal way. Today all these matters belong to the past and, when in Berlin, I feel it's MY BERLIN as in the wonderful Reinhardt Mey song with the same title:
